Policies



​All scheduled riding lessons must be paid in advance or at time of service. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your lesson time. Students that do not cancel with 24 hours notice or that are a no show will be charged the full lesson fee. Special consideration will be made for illness/injury/emergencies. Makeup lessons will not be made available. If BLE must cancel lessons due to shows/bad weather, emergencies, BLE will make every effort to offer make-up lessons. Paid lessons will be rolled to the next scheduled lesson.

Students who are 15+ minutes late to their scheduled lesson will be considered a no show and will not be allowed to ride. The full lesson amount will be expected per the cancellation policy.

Advanced riders and boarders taking a lesson on their horse should arrive 15 minutes prior to their lesson time to groom and saddle their horse.

Students attending horse shows are required to help load or unload. More information listed under the events page.

Barn Rules

  • Boarders are allowed unlimited access to their horses, but please be respectful as the owners live on property. 6am to 9pm are listed barn hours.
  • All riders or persons handling a horse must sign a release before handling any horses in any way.
  • Riding is strongly discouraged if the temperature is below 35 degrees or above 105 degrees.
  • Open-toed shoes of any kind are not allowed in the barn, tacking area, arena, or around horses.
  • For the riders and horses' safety, no jumping outside of lessons is permitted.
  • Smoking or the use of illegal substances is not allowed on the property at any time by any person(s).
  • The speed limit on the driveway is 5 MPH. Please park in designated parking areas only.
  • All riders are required to wear an ASTM/SEI approved helmet when mounted on a horse (NO EXCEPTION) for pleasure and/or instruction.
  • Please do not give treats to horses other than your own, unless approved by the owner.
  • All visitors/family members accompanying a rider are encouraged to stay during a lesson but must remain quiet and well-behaved while at the stable. Children 14 and under must be always supervised by an adult.
  • Clean up after your horse and yourself. There are trash containers available for the disposal of shedded hair, hoof cleanings and general refuse. This includes in the barn isle, walkways, wash rack, tacking area, parking lot, and arena. Hoses should be put away neatly and water turned off.
  • All tack, equipment, and belongings should be clearly labeled with rider's or horse's name.
  • The house is a private residence.
  • Please turn off the lights in the arena if you are the last person riding.
  • Running in the barn yard, screaming, and throwing objects is not permitted. If a horse should become suddenly frightened it could easily injure itself, the rider, or anyone else in the area.
  • Horses may be led by a lead rope clipped to a fastened halter or with a rope halter and line only. No loose ropes about the neck, or unfastened halters. In all open and general use areas, the horse must be under your direct control, and must be always be attended when out of pastures or paddocks.
  • Any person(s) found abusing, neglecting, or harassing any horse or animal on BLE property will be asked to leave immediately.
  • All affiliates of BLE have permission to approach strangers or visitors on the property to inquire their reason for being on the property.
  • All dogs are to be on a leash. Please clean up after your dog.
