- Beginner riding lessons are available in English for riders age 5 and up (each student is an individual so we reserve the right to ask some riders to come back when they are older). Our students learn all aspects of horseback riding, catching and leading, as well as untacking, grooming, and tack cleaning. We believe teaching the how’s and why’s of horseback riding is important to becoming an exceptional rider. Parents are encouraged to watch their children ride as long as they don't disrupt the instructor or riders in the lesson.
- Advanced English lessons are geared towards riders looking to begin, or already are showing and competing, or want to improve their horsemanship. Advanced students also have the opportunity in participating at different instructional clinics. Horse showing is not required. Advanced lessons are available on your horse, or our horses on a limited basis.
- Lessons are currently only available as private and limited semi-private lessons.
- We have a covered arena so lessons are given rain or shine, hot or cold so dress accordingly. We may cancel lessons during severe weather.
Lesson Requirements
- ASTM/SEI Helmets are required for ALL riders while mounted. Limited schooling helmets are provided; we do encourage all riders to invest in their own helmet that has been correctly fitted at one of our local tack shops, Dover Saddlery or Salado Creek Tack Shop.
- Lessons are approximately an hour. Come ready to work and possibly get dirty. Please arrive promptly at your scheduled start time to allow for grooming and tacking up, and plan to stay at least 10 minutes after your lessons to allow for untacking and tending to your horse.
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your lesson time. Students that don’t cancel with 24 hours notice or that are a no show will be charged a full lesson fee.
- Payment is expected at time of service. We accept cash, check (made out to Janet Ramirez), PayPal (family & friends method to jkmramirez@hotmail.com) or Venmo (jkmramirez). Credit Cards are not accept at this time.
- All riders are required to have liability release forms signed and on file prior to the start of their lesson.
- Riders must come in appropriate riding pants (beginners may use jeans), and proper riding shoes with heals. Advanced riders participating in shows will be required to purchase show attire.
